PAWI VILMD is the sole Romanian representative for the complete TSUMURA product range and works directly with the Japanese company, without intermediaries.

Through partnerships with national regulatory and supervisory institutions in the sector, the company focuses the promotion and sale of its portfolio primarily on forestry professionals—legal entities using specialist products.

  • Suehiro Seiko was founded in 1923, initially producing hand saws for professional use. In 1960 it began manufacturing chainsaw guide bars, becoming the first Japanese producer in this field.

    Today its range also includes professional chains for very hard materials, including rescue applications, as well as cutting discs for trimmers and brushcutters.

    Tsumura guide bars and chainsaw accessories are manufactured and assembled using advanced machinery and heat-treatment processes designed to deliver high standards of durability, strength, finish and precision.

    The guide-bar tips use carefully treated materials and high-quality bearings. Even the rivets are engineered from strong, compatible materials.

    Laser cutting provides speed and flexibility, allowing any guide-bar shape to be produced to customer requirements.

    Salt-bath heat treatment

    Professional guide bars need two contrasting qualities: hardness and toughness. Following more than 30 years of research, Suehiro Seiko adopted salt-bath heat treatment to achieve the right balance between them and produce steel suited to guide-bar manufacturing.

    Rather than heating the steel immediately to more than 800°C, the salt-bath process raises its temperature gradually. This creates a hard, uniform steel structure with minimal distortion.

    Straightening process

    A chainsaw chain travels through the guide-bar groove at more than 25 m/s, making a straight groove essential.

    If it is not perfectly straight, the guide bar can wear prematurely along uneven sections.

    Tsumura therefore straightens each guide bar three times during production: during pressing, after heat treatment and during final finishing. Every straightening stage is completed manually by qualified staff.

    Light and durable

    Tsumura LIGHT guide bars use a distinctive design that makes them exceptionally light. Recesses in the bar are filled with hard resin, reducing its weight by approximately 20%.

    The result is a stable guide bar that reduces physical effort and improves cutting efficiency.

Types of Tsumura guide bars

  • Tsumura LAMINATED guide bars

    A laminated guide bar is made from three steel plates welded together, with a sprocket at the tip to carry the chain.

    Laminated guide bars are generally a more economical option than solid guide bars.

    The nose sprocket turns at very high speed, so chain oil must continuously lubricate both the body and tip of the bar.

    Clean the guide bar’s oil holes after using the chainsaw and apply grease before and after use.

    Laminated guide bars may use one rivet at the tip (BL, CL, FL and QL), or four or six rivets.

    The CL, EL, MC and UC ranges are LIGHT versions with reduced weight.

    There are two types of solid guide bar: one with a replaceable nose and one without a nose sprocket, using a welded carbide-reinforced tip. Narrow carving bars are also a form of welded-tip solid guide bar.

    Solid guide bars are cut directly from a single plate of SKS-51 alloy steel, including the groove profile. They are also salt-bath heat treated to achieve the required hardness and consistency.

    Because they are made from a single plate, solid guide bars are harder and more durable than laminated bars. On replaceable-nose models, changing the nose can significantly extend the bar’s service life.

    Clean the guide bar’s oil holes after using the chainsaw. Greasing is particularly important for fixed-tip models, both before and after use.

    The solid guide-bar range also includes LIGHT versions that are approximately 20% lighter than standard models.

  • The Tsumura chain for very hard materials and rescue work has a thick tungsten-carbide coating across each cutting surface, increasing hardness and extending service life.

    Its design maintains the correct depth-gauge clearance despite the tungsten carbide welded to the cutter.

    The rescue chain is developed for demolition and rescue work, while the very-hard-material chain is intended for construction materials and extremely hard timber.
